The first bather I saw in my stream was a Hermit Thrush and I was thrilled beyond description. Living at 15 Mainsail is like that— beyond description. Every day brings beauty minute by minute. One cannot easily choose between the beauty of the fog sifting through the trees, the indigenous plants flowering with diversity and profusion, or Juncos having a bath in the wee stream in my front yard.
Maggie Fleming is a member of the Rideau Lakes Horticultural Society and the daughter of one of its Founding Fathers. Her photos are beautiful, her captions are inspiring, and her knowledge of flora and fauna instructs on the natural world of the Rideau Lakes and now, Nova Scotia. Welcome, friend, and enjoy!

Where angel babies sleep and Junco's splash
Dear friends of mine asked me last evening if I wanted to go to the city today with them. I thanked them but declined their kind offer saying, “Who would choose to leave this heaven?” To that, one of my friends responded,”Maggie you will become a recluse!” “Hardly,” I retorted . "I have friends in an out all summer and I am a busy gal." We laughed.
