September 1st at the big river

The St. Lawrence River is dynamic. You never  know what you will find flying above or floating beside you. I have taken literally hundreds of pictures of flora and fauna on that great river but Sept 1st was a lazy warm one where Alanagh Molly and I could visit our secret haunts, smell the wonderful river air coming to us on the South wind. Some trees have grown since we left seven years ago, some have fallen. No signs of ospreys or herons but there were black ducks, mallards, and grebes on that warm sunny Sept. day that started with a walk through my dew dressed garden.
