Ospreys and white crowned sparrow

The dew was heavy on the grass as Alanagh, Molly, and I headed out to check on the ospreys this morning

In Newboro some ospreys nest on the electric towers

and near the towers there is an ancient Oak.

There, on that oak the osprey preened and enjoyed the morning sun

After several minutes it took off to attend to the day’s work

On the ground, small and bright, a white crowned sparrow watched me. http://www.allaboutbirds.org/guide/white-crowned_sparrow/sounds

Alanagh, Molly, and I returned home content with the beginning of this beautiful day.
